Misfits privacy policy

Last updated: 2 November 2026

This policy covers the Misfits mobile game provided by Granite Gull Studios, Jersey, Channel Islands. It describes local game data and advertising through Google AdMob. For this website, see our website privacy notice.

Information stored by the game

Misfits does not require an account. Progress and preferences are saved on your device: level progress, stars, earned coins, hints and guided solutions, your current puzzle, board themes and accessibility and audio preferences. We do not operate a server that receives these game saves. Your device or platform backup settings may include app data in backups.

Advertising with Google AdMob

The game uses Google AdMob to show ads. Advertising requires an internet connection. Google and the advertising partners involved in an ad may process information separately from your local game save.

Google's Mobile Ads SDK can collect and share IP addresses (which can indicate an approximate location), device and advertising identifiers, interactions such as app launches and ad views or taps, and diagnostic information such as crash reports and performance data. This supports ad delivery, measurement, analytics and fraud prevention. The information processed depends on the platform, SDK configuration and your privacy choices.

Personalised ads may use information about your interests and activity. Non-personalised ads can still use technical information for delivery, measurement and fraud prevention; they do not mean that no data is processed.

Read Google's Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from apps that use its services, and Google's Mobile Ads SDK data disclosures. Ad partners and their purposes are identified in the advertising consent message where one is presented.

Your advertising choices

Where required, you will be asked for consent before advertising uses device storage or personal data for purposes that require consent, including personalised advertising. You can decline optional consent. Where an in-game privacy-options control is provided, use it to review or withdraw your choices. You can also contact us for help with your privacy preferences.

Your device's privacy settings let you manage advertising identifiers and ad personalisation. On iOS, you can manage app tracking permission in Settings. Availability and wording vary by device and operating-system version. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Why information is used and shared

Local saves let the game remember your progress and settings. Advertising data supports the ads that fund the game. Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on consent for optional personalised advertising and device access, and legitimate interests for necessary security, fraud prevention and responding to enquiries, subject to your rights and applicable law.

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address and message, and use it to respond. Hosting and email service providers may process that correspondence on our behalf. We may also disclose information when required by law.

Retention, deletion and security

Local saves remain until removed through the app or your device's app-data controls. Uninstalling normally removes local app data, but platform backups may remain until you delete them separately. Clearing app data can permanently remove your progress.

We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and meet applicable legal obligations. Google and ad partners retain advertising information under their own policies; deleting the game does not automatically delete information already held by them. Use their privacy controls or contact them to request deletion.

Google states that Mobile Ads SDK data is encrypted in transit. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.

International processing and your rights

Google and its partners may process information outside Jersey or your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards described in their privacy policies.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent. Contact us about information we hold, or Google about information it holds. You may complain to the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner or your local data-protection authority.

Children's privacy

We do not ask players to submit their name, age or contact details to play. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and address it. Device and store parental controls can help manage access to apps and advertising.

Changes and contact

We will update this page when the game's data practices change and revise the date above. For privacy questions or requests, email postmaster@granitegull.com and include “Misfits privacy” in the subject, or use our contact form.
